Terms of Service

Velappi is a South African workforce development platform that trains delivery drivers and introduces them to prospective employers. We are an intermediary. We are not the employer of drivers placed with third-party employers unless a separate written agreement expressly says so.

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be legally entitled to live and work in the Republic of South Africa and able to provide a valid South African ID.
• Information you give us must be true, current and complete. Giving false information (including a fake or borrowed ID number) is a breach of these terms and may be a criminal offence under South African law.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us immediately at hello@velappi.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, or to protect the safety of drivers, employers or the public.

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading or another person's information;
• Scrape, harvest, resell or republish driver or employer data;
• Circumvent Velappi to solicit a driver you were introduced to through the platform, in a way that avoids agreed placement fees;
• Upload malicious code, attempt to breach security, or interfere with the service;
• Use the platform for anything unlawful, discriminatory or harassing.

Completion of training does not guarantee employment. Placement depends on employer demand, background checks and driver performance. Any employment relationship that results is between the driver and the employer, on terms they agree.

The Velappi platform is currently free for drivers to register and apply. Employer placement fees are agreed in a separate written engagement before any invoice is raised. We will tell you clearly before any charge applies.

The Velappi name, logo, website design, training materials and software are owned by Velappi (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, adapt or redistribute them without our written permission. You keep ownership of information you submit, but grant us a licence to use it to operate the platform (see the Privacy notice).

The platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific employer, training slot or income outcome will result. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, or POPIA.

To the extent permitted by South African law, Velappi's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ZAR 1,000, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill.

You indemnify Velappi against loss, damage or claims arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful conduct, or your submission of false information.

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or through the platform before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act to refer a dispute to the National Consumer Commission or a consumer tribunal.
